Matthew Towns, CFA
Matthew Towns is the Vice President Investments for Clarke Inc. In this role, he leads the team responsible for researching and evaluating private companies, private funds and public companies for potential investment, and enhances the Clarke team’s ability to make informed decisions in a complex environment. He also provides professional assistance to publicly-traded companies in which Clarke invests, where this assistance would help enhance shareholder value.
Mr. Towns brings years of financial analysis expertise in the oil and gas industry to Clarke. Prior to having joined Clarke in February 2007, he worked in equity research at RBC Capital Markets evaluating Energy Trusts. Previous to his position at RBC Capital Markets, Mr. Towns spent four years at Imperial Oil Limited, in various roles including Treasury, Cash Management, Risk Management and Business Development.
Mr. Towns serves on the Boards of Directors of Bonnett's Energy Services Trust (TSX: BT.UN) and Midlake Oil & Gas.
Mr. Towns is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as an MBA from St. Mary's University.
